Ant brain (part one)

When I was about eight years old I got a "brilliant" plan to make a brain: I would link ant brains with copper fibers taken from electric cables.

It was crystal clear to me that each small brain would contribute with its little mental power. Thus, by adding enough of them I would have an intelligent system.

Try to guess why I wanted to make a bioelectrical brain?
No clues?

I wanted it to make a robot.

Sad as it is, my robot tales must wait for their moment. That warm and clear afternoon, happily sat with crossed legs on the stones of my garden, I had more than enough with the brain. I had with me all that I needed:

• Ants: those poor animals were going and coming, busy and oblivious of their approaching doom
• An empty and clean jar of jam, with its lid
• Plasticine (sorry, I can't remember if it was red, blue, or if it was just of "plasticine mix" colour)
• Blue electric cable (in those days we had at home a spool of thick cable made of only one thread... I regarded that cable as one of my most priced treasures. I used it in many adventures)
• An innocent table knife
